Welwyn Parish Council keeps the costs down
The council recognises the value of providing affordable venues for the use of residents and the community. That’s why the council works hard to ensure that rates are kept down, in most cases subsidising them, for community use. This allows residents to enjoy their celebrations from weddings and birthdays through to moments of sadness here in the parish.
All rates are per hour. Hire before 9am or after 10pm is at double the normal rate. Bank Holidays are at double the normal rate.
||Hire charges include tables, chairs
|The Parish Centre includes access
to a Digital (VGA) projector for
presentations (attached to ceiling)
Please note that the rates quoted above are for community use and apply until the 31st March 2017. Discounts are available for regular hirers.
Each year the council revises the rates in December with the new rates taking effect from the 1st April.
The Pavilion kitchen is for sole use of hirers. For the Whitehill Centre the kitchen is shared with the users of the other hall if the whole venue is not booked. The Parish Centre kitchen depends on usage as it is not fully functional (no cooker). There are additional charges at the Civic Centre for use of the commercial standard kitchen if cooking.
If you are interested in larger whole day hiring, regular hiring, or for commercial rates please contact us
for more details.
These charges do NOT include the deposit which is refunded after the event provided that there are no issues. This is usually done within two weeks of a booking via Bank transfer.
For the Welwyn Civic Centre Main Hall/whole Hall Hire this is usually around £250 and for the Whitehall Centre and Pavilion £50. Additional deposits may be required depending on the type of hire.
